Teachfynorath Financial Goals Platform

Our Journey Started with a Simple Question

Why do so many Australians struggle to reach their financial goals despite having good intentions?

Back in 2019, Sarah Chen was working as a financial advisor in Perth when she noticed something troubling. Her clients weren't failing because they lacked money or motivation — they were failing because traditional financial planning felt overwhelming and disconnected from their daily lives. Most people would leave her office with a 30-page financial plan that ended up gathering dust on their kitchen counter.
That's when the idea for Teachfynorath was born. Sarah teamed up with her colleague Michael Torres, a behavioral economics specialist who'd been researching why people abandon their financial goals. Together, they spent two years developing a different approach — one that breaks down big financial dreams into manageable, daily actions that actually stick.
We launched from a small office space in Perth's CBD in 2021, and what started as a side project quickly grew into something much bigger. Today, we're Australia's most trusted platform for personal financial goal-setting, helping over 15,000 families turn their financial dreams into reality through our unique step-by-step methodology.

Our Mission

We make financial goal-setting simple, personal, and achievable for everyday Australians. No jargon, no overwhelming spreadsheets — just clear, actionable steps that fit into your real life.

  • Simplicity over complexity in every tool we build
  • Personal connection rather than one-size-fits-all advice
  • Progress tracking that celebrates small wins
  • Transparency in all our recommendations and pricing
  • Community support that keeps you motivated

Our Vision

We believe every Australian deserves to feel confident about their financial future. By 2027, we want to help 100,000 families achieve at least one major financial milestone — whether that's buying their first home, paying off debt, or building an emergency fund.

Financial stress affects too many good people, and it doesn't have to be that way. When you have a clear plan and the right support system, reaching your money goals becomes not just possible, but inevitable.

That's the future we're building — one where financial planning feels empowering instead of overwhelming, and where your biggest financial dreams are just well-organized goals waiting to happen.

Michael Torres

Co-Founder & Head of Product

Michael's background in behavioral economics is what makes Teachfynorath different from other financial platforms. With a PhD from Melbourne University and five years at Australia's Behavioural Economics Team, he understands why people make the financial choices they do — and more importantly, how to help them make better ones.

His research on habit formation and goal achievement has been published in three academic journals, but he's most proud of the real-world impact his work has on our members' daily financial decisions. Michael's the reason our platform feels intuitive rather than intimidating.
